Oksana Masters
Physical Challenge: Bilateral Above Knee Amputee
Sports: Hand Cycling, Nordic Ski- Cross Country & Biathlon (Sitting)
Hometown: Khmelnitskyy, Ukraine
Born in Ukraine, both of Oksana’s legs were damaged by in-utero radiation poisoning from the Chernobyl nuclear reactor incident, along with several other birth defects. After being adopted and moving to the United States, Oksana ultimately had both legs amputated. Oksana has won numerous athletic achievements and awards since.
Some of her accomplishments include, being a 6x Paralympian and 10x Paralympic medalist (4 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze) for Team USA. A few notable awards include being the 2018 Women’s Sports Foundation Sportswoman of the year, a 6 time ESPY Award nominee, and the 2019 Team USA Female Athlete of the Year with a Disability. Needless to say, Oksana continuously proves to be a hero of sport and is a model of resiliency as demonstrated by her impressive athletic career.
