Marcus Chischilly grew up on the Navajo Reservation in Woodruff, Arizona. He moved off the reservation when he was about 8 years old where he finished growing up in the Phoenix area before joining the Marine Core. In 2010, Marcus lost his left leg above the knee and suffered other shrapnel damage from an IED while conducting combat operations in Afghanistan. He continued to serve 6 more years prior to retiring. While rehabilitating at Naval Medical Center San Diego, Marcus discovered CAF Operation Rebound and joined the surf clinics that help to rehabilitate injured veterans. Recently, CAF supported Marcus in his latest endeavor to become a certified strength and fitness trainer to support other injured veterans in finding healing power of sports.
