Christopher Tracht
Challenge: Below Knee Amputee
Sports: Cross Country, Track and Field
Bio: Christopher was born with a rare diagnosis called Fibular Hemimelia. At the age of 10 months he had his foot amputated and was soon fit for his first prosthesis. By 12 months old he was walking and running soon after.
From an early age Chris has been involved in sports and has led an active lifestyle. He was playing soccer and baseball at 4 years old, riding bikes and swimming being a very active kid. By age 8 he was playing select baseball on a travel team and never let his disability slow him down. At 9 years old he discovered the UCO Endeavor Games where he ran his first track and field event. At that meet Chris brought home 8 gold medals in track and field as well as cycling. Since then he has been to many Endeavor Games and the CAF events. He has continued to play sports, enter mountain bike races and has remained very active.
Entering High School Chris decided to focus solely on Cross Country and Track and Field. Now a sophomore Chris has personal best times of 4:46 in the mile, 10:06 in the 3200 and 16:08 in the 5k. He is looking forward to lowering his best times and one day having a chance at the Paralympics.
