Challenged Athletes Foundation Endowment

An endowment fund at the Challenged Athletes Foundation is a permanent fund that builds a legacy of funding for athletes with physical challenges. As the endowment grows through contributions and investment earnings, the fund provides annual support for both the current needs and the long-term sustainability of the organization. You can support the endowment by giving to the Challenged Athletes Foundation General Endowment, to the Robin Williams Endowment Fund, or the Robert Spotswood Memorial Endowment Fund. 

 

Challenged Athletes Foundation General Endowment

The Challenged Athletes Foundation Endowment was created with the goal of providing long term stability to our organization to assure that there will ALWAYS be funding available for the programs that serve challenged athletes. Your contribution to the endowment fund will help ensure more athletes with physical challenges can live an active lifestyle, and future generations have access to sports and a community that transforms lives.

 

 

 

Robin Williams Endowment Fund

 

Challenged Athletes Foundation Endowment in Memory of Robin Williams was established in 2015 to honor the priceless contributions Robin Williams made to the Challenged Athletes Foundation during his lifetime. The initial fundraising effort to create this endowment came from the CAF Celebration of Will gala. A total of $1 million was raised and it was then matched by an anonymous donor creating a $2 million endowment. The purpose of this fund is to remember Robin’s generosity by distributing grants on an annual basis to deserving challenged athletes in perpetuity. Our goal is to grow this endowment through additional donations so the pool of athletes helped continues to grow. This endowment is managed and held at the San Diego Jewish Community Foundation.

 

Robert Spotswood Memorial Endowment Fund

 

The Robert Spotswood Memorial Endowment Fund at the Challenged Athletes Foundation has been lovingly established by the Hellman and Spotswood Families to continue Robert’s Legacy through sports and community. The Fund will award grants in Robert’s name to youth Challenged Athletes for adaptive athletic equipment, training and competition expenses across a variety of sports and physical activities, many of which he played and loved.
