Personal Story: Emma is poised to make her Paralympic debut in Paris in 2024. She has achieved remarkable success in her sport, earning 10 podiums and three wins in 15 World Triathlon starts. Notably, she secured her first World Triathlon Para Series win in Swansea in 2023 and claimed the title at the 2022 Paratriathlon National Championship. Emma was born in Datong, Shanxi Provence, China. She was adopted at the age of two and had her amputation surgery a couple of months later, as she was born with fibular hemimelia of her right leg. Since receiving her first prosthetic, there has been no stopping her. The training Emma receives and the competitions she participates in are preparing her to set and meet her goals in swimming, triathlons, and in life. Emma’s journey in triathlon began in 2017, and she has continually set and met her goals in swimming, triathlons, and life. In addition to her athletic achievements, Emma has been a leader in her academic environment, serving in leadership roles such as student council president.
